Advocacy: OpenMind aims to mobilise public opinion and draw policy makers’ attention towards improving and promoting health care and wellbeing in the state. We are holding conversations on and are actively campaigning for Universal Health Coverage. We believe that every citizen has the right to the best attainable health care and quality of life irrespective of their background or status. Clinical care should be free at the point of delivery. All different sectors of health care providers (Government, independent and cooperative/ charitable sectors) should be functionally integrated, retaining finical and administrative independence into a single seamless health care service: KERALA STATE HEALTH SERVICE. Health care systems must be publicly administrated to ensure standards, quality, and equity.
Actions: Actions for better health care by improving public and professional engagement and involvement

Our research projects are funded by local self-governments, international research institutes, individuals and the Institute for Mind and Brain. We have an established Ethics Committee with eminent researchers and ethicists. Public participation is ensured at all stages of research we do through OPEN Minds and other avenues. We also have links with national and international collaborators

You can conceive a project to study a particular challenge relating to health and wellbeing. For instance, this could be to understand a problem from the perspective of those who are affected by it and how best to overcome it, or to review the deficiencies in support systems and formulate potential solutions, and more. With your aid we can better understand and increase knowledge in relation to various health and care challenges we face.
We set up a named Fund in honour of your loved one. Anyone can contribute in any way they wish. You can also set up a named tribute fund to organise annual training events, lecture series, seminars or for providing research grant to a chosen area and in memory of your loved one.
Your donation to the Wellbeing Care Fund will be specifically used to provide free short-term care (respite or relief care) to disadvantaged groups in our community such as women facing domestic violence, parents of children with a terminal illness or disabling condition, individuals looking after loved ones with chronic conditions (e.g. dementia). This donation would enable free provision of, for instance, brief intense psychological support, listening service, skills training and/or a much needed brief respite stay away from daily challenges at home. Your gift will give back life to these individuals.
Donations: All Donations should be made only via OpenMind’s bank account. All your donations are tax exempted under 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act. As per 80G, you can deduct your donations from your total income to arrive at your taxable income.
